What we collect, why, and the choices you have. Last updated 30 September 2026.

01The short version

Lenslyst helps creatives deliver photos and videos to their clients. To do that, we store the work you upload, the details you give us, and a small amount of information about how galleries are used. We don't sell personal information, we don't show ads, and we don't use your work to train AI models.

This policy covers two groups of people: creatives, who have a Lenslyst account, and clients, who view the galleries creatives share.

02What we collect from creatives

  • Account details: your name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), studio or business name, logo, bio and the address of your Lenslyst page.
  • Your work: the photos and videos you upload, with their file names, sizes and dimensions, and the galleries, settings and notes you create.
  • Billing: your plan, payment dates and amounts. Card and mobile money details are entered on Paystack, and we never see or store them.
  • Usage: how much storage and how many video minutes you use, and how many minutes of your videos are watched. We use this to run plan limits and to spot unusual load.

03What we collect from clients

Clients don't need an account. When you open a gallery, we may collect:

  • the name, and email address if you give one, that you enter to leave a comment, favourite or approval
  • the comments, favourites and approvals themselves, which the creative can see
  • which photos or videos were downloaded or watched, so the creative can be notified

The creative decides what happens with the work and with your feedback. If you have a question about a gallery, ask the creative who shared it first.

04Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our servers receive your IP address and browser details with each request. We use them to keep the service secure, for example to limit repeated sign-in attempts, and we don't use them to build profiles of you.

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count page visits and measure how fast pages load. They don't use cookies and don't identify you personally.

05Cookies

We only use cookies the service needs to work: to keep you signed in, to remember a gallery password you've entered, and to remember simple preferences such as which part of the dashboard you last used. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

06How we use information

  • to provide Lenslyst: storing your work, building previews and downloads, and showing galleries to clients
  • to send emails you need, such as verification, password resets, billing reminders and gallery activity
  • to process payments and manage your plan
  • to keep the service secure and prevent abuse
  • to understand usage and costs, and improve Lenslyst

07Who helps us run Lenslyst

We use trusted providers to host and run the service. They handle information only on our behalf and only for the purposes below:

  • Amazon Web Services: image processing and delivery, and some file storage
  • Cloudflare: storage of photos and videos (R2) and video playback (Stream)
  • MongoDB Atlas: our database
  • Render and Vercel: hosting our servers and website
  • Paystack: payment processing
  • Resend: sending email
  • Google: signing in, if you choose "Continue with Google" (we receive your name, email address and Google account ID, never your Google password)

Some of these providers store data outside Ghana, including in Europe and the United States. We only share information with others if the law requires it, to protect people or the service, or as part of a sale or merger of Lenslyst, in which case this policy would continue to apply.

08How long we keep information

We keep your account and work for as long as your account is open. When you delete a photo, video or gallery, it's removed from our storage, and backups and caches clear within a short time after. Accounts that are never verified are removed after 7 days.

To close your account, email us and we'll delete your work and personal information, except payment records we must keep for tax and accounting.

09Security

We protect information with encrypted connections, hashed passwords, private storage and gallery passwords. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your information, we'll tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

10Your choices and rights

You can see and change most of your information in your dashboard settings, and download or delete your work at any time. You can also ask us to give you a copy of your personal information, correct it, delete it or stop using it for a particular purpose.

Clients can ask the creative who shared a gallery to remove their comments or favourites, or contact us directly. We'll answer requests within 30 days.

11Children

Lenslyst accounts are for adults. Galleries may include photos of children, which the creative is responsible for sharing with the right permissions. We don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

12Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy when the way we handle information changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters, we'll tell creatives by email or in the dashboard before it takes effect. See also our Terms of Service.
